Emmanuel Deleon is originally from Long Island, New York. As a boy he would visit his family in Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and see how they lived off the land. His interest in soil began here and he is now pursuing a major in Environmental Soil Science at the University of Tennessee. While in Knoxville he learned about the benefits of organic farming to the environment and to personal health. This led him to apply for the organic internship program of 2013. 

In his free time he likes brewing a healthy drink called kombucha which he shares with his friends and family. He loves to learn about superfoods and how to improve his health and longevity.  He also trying to get people more involved in outdoor activities such as disc golf, mountain biking, and hiking.
